Internship Job Description

SLOCAS is a non‐profit organization staffed exclusively by professional volunteers. SLOCAS operates the only archaeological collections facility in San Luis Obispo County. Interns interested in working at SLOCAS would have duties involving archive and collections management. SLOCAS is updating many older collections according to new standards found in the SLOCAS Policies and Guidelines for the Curation of Archaeological Collections (available at SLOCAS.org).
Interns would help with the management and archiving of older collections according to our new standards.

Training Offered

Management of archaeological collections.

Basic knowledge and an interest in archaeology, collections management, and/or museum studies.
