About Ryan Alaniz

Ryan Alaniz holds a Master’s in Latin American Studies and a PhD in sociology.  He is a professor of sociology at Cal Poly State University, SLO and collaborates with local and international organizations including the SLO County Sheriff’s Department, Cuesta College, Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos International, Fulbright Program, and Engineers Without Borders. He was recently awarded the faculty Diversity Award for 2024.
