Terry Jones Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
This past March, Dr. Terry Jones received the 2016 David A. Fredrickson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for California Archaeology at their annual meeting in Ontario, Calif. The award is given for cumulative contributions to California archaeology that have spanned a lifetime. The award is reserved for senior members of the profession. The award has been given to one recipient each year since 1982, and Jones is the 34th recipient. In 2011, the award was re-named to honor of David A. Fredrickson, a particularly accomplished and well-respected California archaeologist who passed away in 2012. It is the society’s most prestigious award, and it is given to the recipient at the annual awards banquet on the last night of the conference.
